Sainsbury's workers protest

Five hundred Sainsbury's workers led by the Transport and General Workers Union marched to the company's headquarters in Holborn last week to protest over this years pay award. This is the first time in the company's history that workers have expressed their concerns by demonstrating on the streets.

"They came from up and down the UK, many marching in a demonstration for the first time in their lives," said Brian Revell, the T&G national organiser for food and agriculture. "That is the measure of the anger and frustration felt by hard working and loyal employees."
